A French invoice now always carries the buyer's SIREN

apifrance

The French tax platform records the buyer's SIREN as its legal registration number: nine digits, under scheme 0002.

When the request did not carry it, the record sent to the tax platform held the buyer's directory address (0225:…) in that place instead. We found it on 27 September 2026 by checking those records against the DGFiP external specifications.

What changed

  • Taken from the address. When to.peppolId is a French address, getpeppr reads the buyer's SIREN from it: the directory address 0225:<SIREN>, with or without a suffix, a SIREN under 0002, or a SIRET under 0009, whose first nine digits are the SIREN.
  • Or sent by you. to.companyId with to.companyIdScheme: "0002" (SIREN) or "0009" (SIRET) gives it explicitly, and what you send is always the one used.
  • Otherwise refused. When none of them gives a valid SIREN, for example a buyer addressed under a non-French scheme, the invoice is refused with 400 invoices.france_buyer_siren_missing, before anything is submitted.

Invoices that do not declare the French regime are not affected.
